We are The Traveling Husbands

Hi there, thanks for joining us! 

We are Jason and Ed - The Traveling Husbands! Our brand initially started as a vlog on YouTube in January of 2019, with the intention of sharing our personal travels, near and far, with our friends and families. As we started reflecting of some of places we love to explore, we decided that you may also enjoy coming along with us on our adventures!

Originally both from the northeast of the United States (Ed is from Connecticut, Jason is from New York), we met shortly after separately moving to Phoenix, Arizona (just a few weeks after Ed arrived there)! Living in the southwest provided us ample opportunity to explore much of Arizona and the southwest, as well as the west coast. Included in our multiple trips to the California coast, was always a stop at Disneyland.

While working on his graduate degree, Jason was awarded a scholarship to study synagogues of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a special place to his family and an area that he visited multiple times with his grandfather. This time, however, he got to take his future husband! While there, we toured much of the region and took side trips to Barcelona, Spain and Zürich, Switzerland. We also visited Colmar, in the Alsace region of France – one of Ed’s favorite spots from his time studying abroad in Paris. This month abroad together in Europe helped us to see that we had found our travel partner for life!

When it came time to get engaged, with the blessing of our close friends and families, we decided to forgo a traditional wedding. Instead, we opted for a traveling wedding and honeymoon. We had both always longed to see Hawai’i, particularly Ed, and a brief Google search made the decision even easier, as we looked at countless photos of immense beauty! 

Hawai’i was going to be the destination for our wedding. We weren’t certain where our honeymoon might be, but Ed already had something in mind – Jason often spoke of how important Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida had always been to him while growing up. When Ed briefly mentioned the idea of visiting one of the Disney theme parks in Asia, Jason didn’t hesitate to exclaim that he had always dreamt of visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort, in particular Tokyo DisneySea. So, that was decided right then; we would both be traveling to a place we had never been before (something important to both of us), and the wheels were set into motion. We were to get married in Hawai’i and would honeymoon in Japan!

Each year since our wedding, we return to Hawai’i, to reconnect with the beauty and tranquility of the islands. We even became members of the Disney Vacation Club, allowing for us to return each year to our special place!

In 2018 we relocated to Orlando, Florida, bringing us closer to friends and family, as well as continuous access to the endless fun of living down the street from all of the theme parks. We’ve also been presented with opportunities for local travel as we explore our new home state and the southeast!
